This Privacy Policy describes how GlySteady, operated by Jeff Gallimore ("we", "us", or "our"), collects, uses, and protects information when you use our application. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data with care.

We collect the following information when you use the application:

• Email address — collected at sign-up and used for account authentication and alert notifications.
• Phone number — optionally provided by you and used solely to send SMS alert notifications.
• Device usage events — records of when diabetic supply devices (lancet, test strips, insulin pen, glucose reader) are used, including timestamps.
• Blood glucose readings — numerical glucose values and timestamps submitted by connected IoT devices.
• Device connectivity status — heartbeat signals indicating whether your monitoring device is online.

2. How We Use Your Information

All information collected is used exclusively to operate the application:

• To authenticate your account and control access to your data.
• To display real-time dashboards of device usage and blood glucose readings.
• To send alert notifications (via email or SMS) based on alert rules you configure, such as glucose threshold breaches or device inactivity.
• To maintain an event history for review and analysis.

3. SMS Notifications

If you provide a phone number and enable SMS alerts, your phone number is transmitted to Twilio, Inc. solely for the purpose of delivering alert messages you have configured. Twilio acts as a service provider and is not permitted to use your number for any other purpose. Message frequency depends on the alert rules you configure. Standard message and data rates may apply.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, share, or otherwise disclose your personal information to third parties, except as required to operate the application (e.g., Twilio for SMS delivery) or as required by law. Your information is never used for marketing, advertising, or any purpose beyond operating your personal monitoring dashboard.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely in Google Cloud Firestore. Access is restricted to authenticated users. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. We take reasonable technical measures to protect your information against unauthorized access or disclosure.

6. Data Retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate information.
• Request deletion of your account and data.
• Opt out of SMS notifications at any time by removing your phone number in the app or by replying STOP to any SMS alert.

8. Children's Privacy

This application is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
